In 2017 DG and his German wife, living in the UK, had to choose their future country.  With Brexit loaded in the barrels changing between country without Visas was over.  Besides, with Britain determined to flush itself down the toilet no matter what, DG did what any self-respecting Englishman would do in the circumstances.  He left.
 
A new world presented itself. A new life. One full of bright colours, expensive rents but above all, hope.
 
After all "...when you can climb the 1200 metre Kandel mountain straight out your back door and from there gaze out across hundreds of miles of snowy Swiss Alps, French vineyards and German forest you know things are truly looking up..."
 
On this last point DG was categorically wrong.  What was about to unfurl was a nightmare beyond his wildest imagination that would ultimately leave him hunted by Interpol, separated from his wife and with the borders of the EU closed to him.  And back in the UK.  Remarkly, this is actually a true story.
